1 Check your bike's wheel size and purchase quick-release wheels together with tires in that size. They will be either 26-inch for mountain bikes or 7 website web site-cm for road bikes.

2 Flip the bike upside down plus balance it on its handlebars and seat. Release the brake cable with pinching the brake arms jointly and then flipping the bullet-formed conclusion of the brake wire free of charge from the wire cage located between the brake arms.

3 Place a 1/2-inch wrench on each nut that yous located on the outside about both wheel axles. Using the wrenches towards each other, change them counterclockwise to loosen the nuts. Lift the old wheels right up from the bike.

4 Hold the new wheel in front of you by means of both hands on both parts about the wheel. With single hand on the lever and one hand on the knob, begin twisting the lever and the knob at the same period in a counterclockwise course to wide open the skewer.

5 Drop the new wheels into location from the bike's fork where the old wheels came out. If they won't fit, open the lever plus knob a lot more and attempt again till the skewer drops into place on the bike's forks.

6 Hook the brake wire again upward. Close the levers on the outside of the quick-release. If they work not close tightly, open the lever and hold it for one hand while you change the knob on the other side some few times clockwise to tighten it. Close up the lever again. It ought to fit tight, but conduct never force it. If it is as well limited, loosen the knob. If it remains too loose, change the knob a change at a time clockwise until the lever closes snugly, securing the wheel into the fork.

Tips & Cautions

If you need to carry on using your tires, only just purchase quick-release rims. Take away your old tires and put it on your new rims previous to putting the new wheels on the bike. Usually check the brakes before riding the bike after operating on the brakes or tires.
